Located at the cornerstone of Art Academy of Cincinnati’s main campus on 12th and Jackson Streets, SITE1212 is an endlessly versatile, stand-alone space designed for community events, exhibitions, private events, and more.
Our 6,000-square-foot open floor plan invites a 334-person capacity and features stunning windows, two operational glass garage doors, five movable walls, a private entrance, catering space, two gender-neutral restrooms, and is fully ADA accessible.
In May 2000, the Art Academy of Cincinnati announced that it was leaving Eden Park and moving to a new campus in Over-the-Rhine located on the corner of 12th and Jackson Streets. After extensive renovations, AAC moved into their new building in the fall of 2005, occupying the six floors above the iconic Barrelhouse — a former music venue and microbrewery which first opened in 1995. After the Barrelhouse moved away from the Jackson Street space, this corner of the building was utilized as storage for over 16 years. In 2021, after renovations made possible by generous grants from FotoFocus, OFCC, and the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation, SITE1212 opened its doors with the launch of House Party — an event generously underwritten by ArtsWave.
SITE1212 connects the college with community to share in assets, resources, and skills to provide opportunity for students to engage with a broader society. It also serves as an event space for our neighbors for hosting their gathering needs such as conferences, lectures, fundraising functions, weddings, lunches, presentations, and more.
